2007 News Releases Lloyd Milliken Receives Prestigious Louis B. Potter Award INDIANAPOLIS, October 2007 – Lloyd H. Milliken, Jr. has been named the 2007 recipient of the Louis B. Potter Lifetime Professional Service Award. The annual award was presented to Mr. Milliken by the Defense Research Institute (DRI) at their annual meeting on October 11 in Washington, D.C. More than 1400 people attended the event. The award is given to an individual who exemplifies the highest professionalism and service to the legal profession. DRI defines professionalism as follows: "Professionalism goes beyond observance of the legal profession's ethical rules and serves the best interest of clients and the public in general. Professionalism requires that lawyers conduct themselves before the Court and with opposing counsel in a manner which demonstrates respect for the law and preserves decorum and integrity of the judicial process. It preserves and enhances the image of the legal profession in the eyes of the public. It supports programs and activities to educate the public about the law and the American legal system, and it fosters respect and trust among lawyers." Lloyd Milliken is the second Locke Reynolds attorney to receive the Louis B. Potter award, as Hugh E. Reynolds, Jr. received the award in 2002. Mr. Milliken practices product liability, business litigation and complex tort litigation. He has represented manufacturers of a wide variety of products including automobiles, construction equipment, hand and power tools and medical devices.
