Locke Reynolds Receives Defense Verdict for Kia
INDIANAPOLIS, June 2005 – Kevin C. Schiferl , an attorney with Locke Reynolds LLP, together with David Kelly and Nate Bjerke of Bowman and Brooke LLP (Minneapolis, Minn.) recently obtained a defense verdict in a sport utility crashworthiness case for Kia Motor Corporation.
Plaintiffs, a husband and wife, alleged a negligent and uncrashworthy roof design in a 1998 Kia Sportage after the wife was rendered a quadriplegic in a northern Indiana accident on Interstate 65 on February 8, 2002. The jury deliberated approximately 90 minutes before returning its verdict for Kia.
Mr. Schiferl is a trial attorney, concentrating his practice in product liability and tort litigation, defending corporations and individuals in personal injury claims involving automobiles and other consumer products. He is also engaged in the defense of professional liability and business claims.
