Products Liability Law

Products liability generally refers to the legal liability of manufacturers, distributors and sellers for injury or damage caused by defective products. Products liability claims have grown with this country's growing infatuation with litigation. Although some products liability claims have merit, far more common is the situation in which the product itself is blamed when, in fact, the damage or injury is the result of irresponsible conduct of others or product misuse or abuse. Such cases amount to little more than requests for ransom. Consistent with our commitment to the success of our clients, we are committed to the defense of their products and their assets.

Through our Products Liability Group, we have established a national reputation for thoroughness, intensity and success in defending clients and their products. We represent clients in arbitration and mediation efforts, as appropriate, but as a group, we are trial lawyers who stand ready to defend our clients' products in court. Though based in Indiana, we have represented clients in products liability litigation in jurisdictions throughout the United States. We have defended the design and performance of a wide variety of products, including automobiles and trucks, motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles, medical devices, industrial machinery, commercial and household saws and tools, construction machinery and chemicals. We have extensive experience in complex representations, and we have won substantial victories for clients at both the trial and appellate court levels.
