Attorney in Focus Robert B. Thornburg Rob Thornburg, a Locke Reynolds partner who started as a lateral associate in 2000, worked in two other Indiana firms before finding Locke Reynolds to be the perfect fit. He touts the national caliber of the firm’s practice, and the firm’s formal and informal mentoring. “You will be given opportunities to succeed, and the firm will give you the support and latitude you need to excel.” Such opportunities came to Rob as an associate, who credits Locke Reynolds for the chance to litigate and try cases and to begin building his practice even as a relatively new lawyer. As his formal biography attests, Rob has achieved professional acclaim and accomplishment over the course of his tenure at the firm. Rob contrasts his Locke Reynolds experience with that of other firms, where as an associate the focus can be predominantly on billable hours and receipts, or where one's time in the office is closely monitored and attorneys are expected to make weekend appearances for the purpose of being seen in the office. "While all of our attorneys work hard, the atmosphere at Locke Reynolds is more collegial, more professional," says Rob. "The focus is on the quality of the work product and being responsive to our clients’ needs." Rob is an avid runner. He and partner, Jeff Mortier, completed the Marine Corps marathon in 2006 and the Chicago marathon in 2007.
