Attorney in Focus Matthew R. King As a fourth year associate on Locke Reynolds’ litigation team, Matt King already has a few years under his belt working with nationally known clients in the auto, motorcycle and ATV industries. “It’s very exciting to work with clients who have a national presence,” says Matt, “and to coordinate matters and work with firms around the country.” He counts himself “privileged” to have such opportunities, saying, “Before I started at Locke Reynolds, I thought this type of client would have been working only with the largest firms, and only with the most senior partners in such firms.” However, after joining the firm, Matt quickly learned he was wrong. “Our reputation as a firm goes beyond Indianapolis and Indiana – even beyond the Midwest. That reputation has given me the opportunity to work with national clients.” Having grown up in Indianapolis, Matt knew he wanted to practice here – but in choosing a firm, he was not drawn to a “huge” firm with an environment where he would likely not know everyone. “I wanted to be able to walk down the hall and know the names and faces of my colleagues.” Locke Reynolds has not only afforded Matt rewarding opportunities to work with people he knows well on stimulating legal projects, but has also allowed him to experience excellence in a lifelong passion – baseball and softball. “We have had recent success with the firm’s softball teams” – both co-ed and a men’s league, which Locke’s team won last season. As an outfielder and shortstop, as well as a top hitter for the team, Matt has found on the field as well in the courtroom the camaraderie he sought when choosing a firm. Sounds like a great double-play. |
