Attorney in Focus
John M.T. Chavis II If you could live anywhere in the country, where would you choose? For John Chavis, Indianapolis meets all the criteria necessary to make it the right choice for him and his family. He and his wife have plenty of bases for comparison; they have lived all over the U.S., from Missouri to Washington, D.C., to Florida and then to New Mexico.
John M.T. Chavis, II comes to Locke with great experience. He served as a Deputy Attorney General for the Office of the Attorney General in the Tort Litigation Section, the Consumer Protection Division and as Director of Policy and Planning. Prior to his service in the Office of the Attorney General, Mr. Chavis was a Deputy Prosecutor with the Marion County Prosecuting Attorney's Office from 1994 to 1996.
So why settle in the heart of the Midwest? "First, Indianapolis falls in the category of up-and-coming cities. During our thirteen years here, we have enjoyed the city and have seen it grow. Second, we appreciate the community feel the city offers alongside professional sports, culture, and diversity. Third, we wanted to be near our families. Indianapolis is perfect, because the world is a plane ride away." What about more happening locales, hipper places to live? "Most likely to live in a fashionable hot-spot would have more down sides, especially in the legal field. I'd rather have the quality of life, the larger home, the yard, the good schools and the time to enjoy it," John recounts.
John Chavis and his family chose Indianapolis as a great place to live. Why consider Locke Reynolds as a number one choice, as well? John Chavis says,"The firm is of significant size, but the culture fosters strong relationships - we know each other and socialize together. This benefits clients as they see us working together to meet their needs and solve their problems." By finding a firm that's the right fit in the right city, he has found two places he calls home. |
